resetting the registry for Excel

There was a post in the past 2-3 months about a way to delete the Excel
registry entries and then reset them. I'm aware of how to do this via
/unregserver & /regserver but there was an alternate way which was more
extensive. I unfortunately can not find the post. Does anyone recall it or
have a link to it?
