Resize Category Label Area in Bar Chart

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I have produced a bar chart where my Category Labels are strings of text of moderate length. In the charts, these are displayed in the region call the "Vertical (Category) Axis". The default formatting makes this overall area very wide, with minimal line wraps of the strings. I would like to squeeze this area so there are more line wraps per string. But I can't seem to adjust this. Grabbing the vertical axis does not allow it to move. Grabbing the plot area to resize it shrinks everything. I don't recall having such trouble in earlier versions of Excel.

Well, you're right ‹ There's less flexibility in this regard than what was
provided by the old graphics engine. Hopefully this will change in the next
release of Mac Office. In the meantime, your only options are to: change the
font size, adjust the Label's Margins in the Format Title - Text Box dialog
or force the line breaks using the return key.
