Resizing workflow shapes in visio

For some reason, the side handles on the box I am trying to lengthen change
the size proportionally like the corner handles do, but I don't want them to.
How do I get them to just allow me to drag and change just length of box?

Hello J,

Which shape and on which stencil? I couldn't find one that displayed that
behaviour.

Anyway, try right-clicking on your shape and select Format / Protection...
and make sure 'Aspect ratio' is unchecked.
