Resource assignment disappeared from the task

I was modifiing the resource working time in global enterprise resources, but
when I reopeneed the project, many resource assignments have disappeared.
Resources are still in the project but not as task resources...
Can anybody explain why this happened ?
Is it possible to correct it automatically ?
