Resource Availability Flat after OLAP Build

H

Hadi

Hello Experts,

Everytime the OLAP cube gets rebuild we lose the numbers for our resource
availability. to get that back, I would have to open the resource pool, click
on the calendar field and click out of it. sort of a refresh or relink
mechanism. After i do that, the availability numbers seem to come back. The
other problem is this only works on the "view availability" section under
Resources in PWA but I do not get any availabiliity numbers in Portfolio
Analyzer

thank you,

Wow, that's quite a problem!

Sounds to me like your Summary Resource Assignment (SRA) data is hosed, one
method I have used in the past to 'fix' these (republish them all), is to
create a new project plan in Professional, add ALL enterprise resources to
the resource sheet, then save and publish that plan to the server, no tasks
needed.

If the SRA is really hosed and that doesnt fix it, then you might also need
to remove the SRA records from the database, unfortunately they are stored in
the Published database (with ProjUID of all 1's) however you would only be
able to do that in a 'supported' manner with the assistance of MS Product
Support..

Otherwise your workaround makes sense, however it would not update the
Portfolio Analyser values as they are only refreshed during the cube build,
which is when you loose this information!

HTH,

Martin
