Resource availability

I have a task that requires 10 days of Business Analyst (BA) resource in
October. How do I respresent the BA pool capacity for October if I know the
pool can only provide a maximum of eg 15 days work in October. The aim of
this is to then to be able to see that the BA resource is underallocated for
October. If I add another task that requires eg 6 days of BA resource in
October then I would expect to see the BA resource overallocated.

Any ideas??

Hello Steve,
In the Resource Information dialog, set the BA units at 0,75 (or 75%) from
october 1st to 31th.

Hi Steve,

If the availability of a resource changes in time you can represent that in
Resource Information, General pad, Resource Availability.
Project will indeed warn you when you overallocate the resource but not
necessarily on a month basis.
When you plan your business analyst 80% tomorrow, and another task plans him
30% tomorrow, he will be shown as "Red", overallocated, even if he has no
aothe rtask for the whole month.
To see overallocations on week, month... basis youy need to look at the
resource Usage View.

By the way, there is an alternative to entering those 15 days (71%?) in the
Resource availability sheet and that is to fix a number of nonworking days
on his calenda and keep his availability at 100%. I prefer this approach by
far (nobody is available 43 seconds per minute, which is Project's
interpretation) but I realize other people don't think the same way.
