Resource Cost and task hours

Hello good pple of the forum,

I have a business requirement, which says a variance is to be generated to
know the cost status of a task to the number of hours it takes the resource
to execute a task i.e if a task is assigned to a resource, there is budgeted
value for the task let's say the task is to be executed in 6 hrs, every hr is
charged an amount like 100 dollars. Now that equates to 600dollars.

My question is how do i create these fields(budgeted cost for a task) in
project office that will then be calculated to the number of hrs assigned to
a task.

Use Resource Rate Tables (edit resource in Pro, click costs tab) There are 5
available rate table A through E which allow you to specific a standard rate,
overtime rate and cost per use. Add a dollar value to the standard rate ie
100/hr.

These resource costs will subsequently be included in the costs of any
task/assignment which leverages this resource.

You can change the rate table in the properties of the assignment (resource
usage view, double click an assignment, or add the Cost Rate Tabel column to
the view)
