Resource hours, Vacation hours vs. total year hours

How do I change a resources yearly calendar to reflect their vacation time
weather it be 1week, 2weeks or 3weeks. I need their calendar to reflect that
they are here 100% of the time for the 85% they are in the office. Right now
I have to change their availability for the year to 85% so they are not
booked while on vacation.

Open the Enterprise Resource Pool and check out the resource for editing.
Double-click the name of the reosurce and then click the Working Time tab.
In the calendar grid, select the days during which the resource will be on
vacation and then select the "Nonworking time" option. Click the OK button
and then click the Save button. Close the Enterprise Resource Pool. Hope
this helps.

Hi Reuter,

You can do this in the same user interface that you changed the resource's
calendar in the 1st place. just set them back to 100%, with the exception of
their holidays, where they will be 0%

I'm sorry I should have entered my question differently. I know a resource
in PWA can manually notify their manager of time not available but still can
be scheduled for work during time off. Is there a way for the resource to be
classified "unavailable" during time off with out the Administrator checking
out resource pool and making changes for each resource’s calendar manually?
Again the wording might not be correct but hopfully you get the idea..

The answer is no in 2003, however there is a new feature in 2007 that allows
a similar function to the notify manager... but it actually updates the
calendar for planned vacations.
