Resource Leveling - All projects

S

Shawn Ericsson

Hello. Thanks in advance for any help on this topic.

We are three months into deployment of Enterprise Project Management 07 and
current on updates and hotfixes.

Our team was under the assumption that when you level a project it would
level based on all project saved in the server, at minimum all published
projects.

I have read that in order to do so you need to open all projects that the
resources are assigned to and then level. Is this true?

If not - how can you set it up to level based on all assigned projects?

Thanks,

Hello Shawn,

Yes, you need to open all projects that the resources are assigned to and
then level....

Hi,

It will take into account the assignments from all projects on the server,
even from the closed projects, but it can only move tasks from those that
are open: the tasks from the closed projects are treated as immovable!

Jan and Gerard - thank you for your response. It is much appriciated from a
rookie like myself!

I just ran some trials to check this. I made 4 projects, 2 saved to the
server, 2 saved and published to PWA. When started a new project and checked
out the Resource Usage view and expanded "Other Projects and Commitments", it
only showed the two published projects and didn't list the 2 just saved to
the server.

Is there a setting that I need to change to show the projects not published
to PWA and are only saved on the server?

Thanks again!
Shawn Ericsson
