resource levellling

ulf

I have two tasks, 1 & 2, the same day.
I allocate a resource (ulf) to both tasks.
I allocate, say 75%=6h to each task.
When I try to level now, project moves task#2 to the next
day. I want project to allocate 2h on activity nr 2, and
move 4 h to the next day.

Is this possible

Leveling can only do two things:

1. Delay tasks
2. Split tasks to delay assignments

As you can see, what you want to do with automatic leveling is not possible.
However, if you really need to manage your project at the hourly level of
detail, you can create a work contour on task #2 to manually resolve your
overallocation. Work contours are most easily done in the Task Usage view.
Hope this helps.

Select the task, click View>Task Usage, and put the time where you
want it in the timescale part on the right side of the screen.

Thank you for your thoughts. The problem is that I have
hundreds of activities and 500 different resources, so I
want to use automatic leveling, which won´t work if I use
anything else but 100% allocation.

Thank you for your suggestions, but I have hundreds of
tasks and hundreds og resources over up to five years, and
I want to use the automatic levelling, which will be
tricky to handle manually.
