resource names

Msproject 2002 have any limitation to resource names?
How long can it be? Can they have any caracters or it had any limitation?
I introduce a certain number of resources in a project, and the resources
had duplicate themselves. When I try to delete the duplicate resouces I had
the folow message:
"The resource list is to long.
A resource list that contains more than 256 characters cannot be edited or
deleted or used on the To line of a message.
Use the resource Information dialog box to edit long resource names."
How can I solve this problem.

Carlos:

Yes there are restrictions. One of the primary restrictions is due to the
integration with Analysis Services, which has a hard time dealing with
special characters! Additionally, length is constrained, which you
discovered the hard way.

I recommend that you take advantage of the Enterprise Resource Outline Codes
and other Resource level Outline and Conventional Enterprise codes to reduce
the complexity of your naming conventions. Give the tool a chance to make
your job easier. All of the metadata associated with resources can be
filtered, sorted and grouped to find the right resources every time.
