resource sheet initial for second name

In project resource sheet, the initial is automatically the first character
of the first name, can this be changed to become the first character of the
second name

Hi toeknee ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Only by inserting the names the other way round. Or you could insert a new
text column to put in the second name and sort on that.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Or just type the initials you like as part of the resource data. You can
put anything you want in there as it's not actually used for assigning
anything. Project's automatically supplying the first character of the
name is just a 'convenience' that i've never really understood the point of.

Hi Mike and Steve
Thanks for your replies
It is not really important, but I am doing a project with plenty of human
resources.
I have the names on the Gantt bars, that I retrive in the task row from the
Resource Name field.
In the Resource Sheet I have sorted the names into groups such as Fitters,
Boilermakers, etc and then sorted by Initial, but rather than have a person
as Smith John, I have them as John Smith which is a more personal touch.
I overcame the problem by just typing over the original initial and entering
the initial for the second name manually.
I do have another question, because I have a long list of human resources,
is it possible to increase the drop down box when I click on the Resource
Name field, spo that we do not have to keep scrolling, at the moment when I
click on the drop down box in Resource Names on the Gantt Chart, I only see
the first 10 resources.
Thanking you in advance
