Resource Usage View - no longer works in 2006 (Project 2002)

This is probably to general of a question to ask, but my question is "Why?"

The details behind the question: I have a project schedule, first begun in
March '05 and tasks extending into Jun 2006. I've been able to perform a
Resource Usage View until this week (this year!). Now, when I try to look at
the view, I get an apologetic window which states there was a problem (but
doesn't what the problem is!) and Project now needs to restart. How do I
debug what is as issue?

My version: Project 2002, with sp1 installed.

This could be a file corruption. Try:
Save backup copy
File Save As .mpd format
Close file
File Open from .mpd format
File Save As .mpp format

Hopefully in the conversion between formats the corruption will get lost!

I was hoping it would be a corruption problem, and didn't know how to fix. I
tried to correct using the instructions you provided (and even a couple other
formats) and the same result occurs. This actually happend with all Resource
reporting views.
