Resource versus Users (2007)

I imported resources from a project file and so now I can see them in the
Resource Center but I do not see them as users within Manage Users (within
Server Settings of PWA). To do so I have to "Edit details" for the resources
in PWA and check "Resource can logon to Project Server". Can I make the
"Resource can logon to Project Server" checked as a default?

You need to enter a Windows user account for each resource before you import
them into Project Server 2007. Then the system will mark the "Resource can
logon to Project Server" checkbox by default. If you don't use Windows
authentication with your users, you must set up Forms Authentication, which
I addressed in a reponse to your question about this yesterday. Hope this
helps.

You are more than welcome, my friend! Out of curiosity, your name appears
to be Greek. Are you in Greece or somewhere else in the world, like the USA
for instance? Let me know. Thanks!

Born and Raised in Montreal Canada. Just came back from a wonderful vacation
in Greece where my parents and in-laws are from (ie., near Kalamata, where we
all get those wonderfull Greek olives)

BTW, you may recall meeting me at the MS Project conference last October.
We spoke and rode the train together that took us out to our gates at the
Airport.

While I have you here... I have some questions/ problems with Active
Directory sync.

1) MS Project 2007 and Active Directory are not synchronizing based on the
scheduled time I've set up. It does so only when I physically request a sync
by clicking the button "save and sync now".

2) I thought that by using AD, that a new user in AD should come accross to
server as resource in server. It doesn't! They just come in as users. Is
this normal. I thought that if we sync'ed with AD it would automatically
create them as a resource. Is this possible?

3) clicking the button "save and sync now", returns 'Partial Fail'.
clicking the button "save and sync now" again, returns "Sucess". Is there
anything in a user name perhaps that may be causing this bleep?

Nevermind... I think I figured it out... I did not realize we set up AD in
two places in Server Settings...

Thanks for reminding me where I have met you. I'm glad you figured out the
AD synch problem. :)

Well, I thought I had it fixed, but turns out there is a problem with the
scheduling of the AD sync feature. I posted it and the problem details under
the subject "Active Directory Sync (PWA 2007) Scheduling Issues". Perhaps
you may have some ideas on what is wrong...
