Resources and Calendars added to Project from Pool

Hi,

When I add a new project plan and then link the project plan to a resource
pool then MS Project is adding calendar data to my project from the pool
even though I have not referenced any of the calendars from the pool in my
project.

I have setup a specific Calendar for each Resource in the Pool project file
(I know this is not ideal but this data is updated from another system and
one calendar is required for each resource because of the variability of
each resources availability) and when I add a new project and link it to the
pool project then ALL of these calendars and the calendar data comes across
into the new "sharer" project.

The MSP_CALENDARS and MSP_CALENDAR_DATA tables in the sharer project are
updated with ALL calendars from the pool project.

This is far from ideal because we have a large number of resources and
specific calendars in the pool file. To replicate these in each sharer
project is a large overhead in data and performance. I can't imagine why all
Calendars and Calendar Data is required in the sharer project IF they are
NOT being referenced in the sharer project. It appears that Resources are
only added to the sharer project from the resource pool WHEN the resource is
assigned to a task.

In our case if a resource is not assigned to a task then we don't want the
resource OR the specific calendar for the resource to be copied from the
pool project and into the sharer project. If a calendar was referenced as
the project calendar or task calendar then I can understand that the
calendar and calendar data should perhaps be replicated in the sharer
project.

Would someone please advise if there is someway that we can prevent this
data being replicated from the resource project into the sharer project.

NB: If I open the sharer project without the resource pool and then save it
then ONLY the Calendars that are referenced in the sharer project are saved
in the sharer project and sharer project MSP_CALENDARS and MSP_CALENDAR_DATA
tables. This is what I am looking for BUT want it to occur when I save the
sharer project WHILE the resource pool is also open.

Thanks greatly,

Steve
