Resources in PWA vs Resources in MS Project Pro

Glenn

I am new with my firm and I have inherited the scheduling activities here using
Microsoft Project Pro and Microsoft Project Server.

I open PWA and click the Resource View. I see a list of resources. How can
I delete those that no longer apply? Also, it seems that I can only add a
resource from MS Project Pro but when I add a resource from MS Project Pro,
it does not show up in PWA's Resource View for a specific project after I
publish the changes.

How can I add and delete resources for a project and have them be saved in
both the Project Pro client and PWA's view of the server?

Thanks,
glenn

If you are your organization's Project Server administrator, you must add
new resources to the Enterprise Resource Pool (Tools - Enterprise Options -
Open Enterprise Resource Pool). If you are using Project Server 2003, you
can delete enterprise resources that are no longer part of the organization
by doing the following:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click the Admin menu
3. Click the Clean up Project Server database link
4. On the Clean up Project Server database page, click the Resource option
5. Select the resource to delete
6. Click the Delete button
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each resource you want to delete

Before you do so, make absolutely sure that the resource has no Remaining
Work on any task in the system. If you are using Project Server 2002, you
cannot delete the resources, but must make them Inactive instead. To do
that, you must edit the user's account in PWA in the Manager Users and
Groups section. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same problem. I have added new resources to the Enterprise
Resource pool. After following all the steps, saving and exiting. When I go
back in to MS Project I can see the resources and all of their information.
But when I open PWA the resources do not show. Do I need to 'publish' this
somehow?

Thanks,
Brooks
