Resources on multiple teams?

Can resources be on multiple teams in PS2007?

Also can the lookup table for Team Name be in a hierarchy structure like:

Design
Electrical
Mechanical

or does it have to be a flat list like:

Electrical Design
Mechanical Design

Thanks

1. No, each resource can only be part of one team represented by a Team
resource.
2. I believe the Lookup Table can be hierarchical, but my personal
preference is to make it a flat list.

Hope this helps.

Dale,

Thanks for the reply. Another question about team assignments. Do all the
team members have to be resources in a project in order to self assign team
tasks themselves? Or do they get added if the accept the task?

Good question. Here's how it works:

1. I assign a Team resource to a project and assign the Team resource to
three tasks. One of the resources represented by the Team resource is
Mickey Cobb, but she is NOT a part of the project team.
2. I save and publish the project.
3. Mickey Cobb sees the three Team tasks on her My Tasks page. She selects
one of the Team tasks and self-assigns it to herself.
4. The system cancels the Team assignment on her My Tasks page and creates
a new task assignment to which she is assigned.
5. She selects the new task assignment and then submits the update to me.
6. I approve the self-assignment update in the Task Updates page and then
open the project in Microsoft Project Professional 2007.

In the project, the system added Mickey Cobb to the project team and
assigned her alone to the task previously staffed by the Team resource.
Hope this helps.
