response Fronpage can't parse...

N

Neal Van Eck

I get this error when trying to publish; I've turned off firewall (XP and
router) as Knowledge base indiocated and still get message. This happens on
two different ISPs. Extensions allinstalled correctly on servers.

Any help?

Thanks

Can you provide the complete error message in the body of your post?

Yes, Thanks:

"The server sent a response that FrontPage couldn't parse. If youa re trying
to connect to a Windows SharePoint server, check with the Server's
administrator to make sure SharePoint Services is installed properly"

When using FrontPage 2000, message is same except substitute FronPage
Extensions for SharePoint Services.

How are you enter the URL to connected, example?

What type of internet connection do you have, dial-up, DSL, Cable, Satellite?

I connect via "vaneck.us", and am using a cable modem. This used to work a
year ago, so Im sure it's something on my end, but it's a mystery.

Are you saying the last time you did this was 12 months ago, if so, things change, especially with
application updates and the internet.

Nope, not sure when it stopped working; of course apps change, but I've got
all updates,a nd that's why I tried FrontPage 2003 as well as Frontpage 2002,
and I also tried it from a Win 2000 PC aws well as an up-to-date XP SP2 PC,
and tried it on a second ISP server. Always get the same error. Since my APPS
are up to dae, and my PCs are up to date, it's very puzzling. THe ISP techs
verified extensions enabled properly on server. I think I have to try it
with the router completely removed and from my Win 2000 machine to ensure
there are no firewall constructs in place--inconvenient, but maybe it'll work.

Make sure that you are opening or publishing to the live/remote server using:

Or try browsing to the online site home page in IE and using File Edit w/ FP to see if you can connect
