Does anyone know how to restore the factory default settings in project
professional. I've messed with the setting so much that I need to start from
scratch. Thanks
Braker,
Yeah, that can happen from time to time. First you might want to use the
Organizer (Tools/Organizer) to save any custom views, tables, filters,
etc. that you have created. Just open a new blank file and transfer
those items to it.
I assume you are not in a Server environment where there is an
Enterprise Global. To restore the defaults of a standalone installation,
you will need to trash your Global. Project will automatically create a
new one when you start it again. Depending on the version of Project you
are using and the way you have you PC configured, the active Global
could be in a variety of places. In my case, (I run Project 2003 Pro
under Windows XP), it is located in:
C:\Documents and Settings\John\Application
Data\Microsoft\MSProject\11\1033
Once Project creates a new default Global, you can then use the
Organizer to transfer any custom settings to it.
Hope this helps.
