Restore Enterprise Global Template

Hi,

I'm living my worst nightmare: my project server failed and It's necessary
to restore it. My IT Department is working on that, but they are facing a
problem anyone can solve: I've backup the Enterprise Global Template, but
can't restore it on the new server.

As I understand, we need to check-in to Project Server as an admin rights
user, but... if there is not an actual enterprise global template to validate
on, how can we be validated as admin users?

Actually, this the problem we have: create an admin user on Project
Professional 2003 and give the project server address. We test connection and
it's right. But when we try to connect to Project Server with this user, we
get an error message. About possible causes the message displays I'm very
concerned about two: There is not an enterprise global template (which,
precisely, I'm trying to restore!!!) and enterprise functions have not been
enabled.

It's possible to create a new enterprise global template (as if the server
was brand new and not restored) and then copy the old template, or how can we
create an instance to validate our administrator user?

Thank you very much for your attention.

Log in as the administrator in PWA, and enable the enterprise options. I
can't remember where this is exactly in the UI, but it is part of the global
permissions section. Once the enterpise functions have been allowed, you
should be able to restore the EGT.

However, that is only part of the story. In order to restore the projects &
users, you'll have to perform a SQL restore (and WSS), in which case your EGT
and appropriate settings will be restored anyway... You need to use editsite
as part of the process, but this is documented on the web.
