Restore Enterprise Resource Pool

Hi,

I would like to know how I can restore the enterprise
resource pool?

Thanks,

I was able to restore my enterprise resource pool from a back up.

I made a backup by displaying all resource fields by:
1) Create a new resource view in a blank project file
2) Use the organizer to copy the view to your global
3) Copy all of the columns except for one, into Excel.
4) Then, when I needed to recreate it for a different server, I was able to
paste the data back into a blank resource pool sheet.
Warning: some data could change doing this, but I needed to replicate the
data in another server, so I checked all of it field by field. Notes
formatting disappears, and notes are truncated to 255 chars. Other items
could also change.

The trick? I couldn't copy an entire resource from the resource pool, but I
was able to copy all columns minus one.

Mario:

As long as you can open the resource pool from a restored database or
otherwise working copy of Project Server, here's the best way to transfer
the pool to another server:

1) Open a new Project while connected to the server
2) In the new plan, create a corresponding local resource outline code for
each Enterprise Resource Outline Code defined and used in the current pool.
Hint: you can copy the value list from each Enterprise Outline Code to a
notepad document temporarily, and then transfer them to the local outline
code as you create them.
3) Use the build team from enterprise feature to add all of your resources
to the new plan
4) Switch to the Resource Sheet view and insert every Enterprise Resource
Outline Code into the view alongside each of local outline code fields that
you just created. Expose all other Enterprise Resource fields that you're
using as well.
5) Select each enterprise outline code column by clicking on the header cell
and use copy/paste to copy the values to the corresponding local Outline
Code column
6) Click File > Save As and Save to file selecting to save all currently
loaded enterprise custom fields and close the file
7) Verify that the new server has the same Enterprise Custom Outline Code
and Custom Field structure as the source server
8) Use the Import Wizard to Import the resources to import the resources
from the saved mpp file to the new database being careful to map all the
custom field values as needed. This should only be necessary for the Outline
codes provided your new global is configured correctly as specified in step
7.

Viola, you should now have all your resources and all their custom field
values restored to the new database without losing a thing.
