RESTORE FILE

C

Cara Denver

I sorted information on a spreadsheet, which ruined all of
my formulas, I wanted to undo the action, but the undo
option was not available. I closed the file without
saving, but the automatic save had already saved the file,
so I when I reopened the file, it still had the unusable
sorted information.

How do I restore the file to a version before the previous
save? Another problem is posed because the file is only
saved on my company's network, not on my computer.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's actually probably the only possible salvation you might find, so I I'd be
glad about it. Your data is gone and you cannot retrieve the version prior to
the save, UNLESS, you have a backup somewhere. Now the fact that you are on a
LAN means that there is a chance that if the file existed yesterday or last
week, that there is an automatic backup facility that runs to backup all your
LAN data. This would be transparent to the users. You need to call IT Support
NOW and ask them, becuase it is possible that they backup every night and
actually overwrite the previous saved data (I'd hope not, but hey).

You will lose any updates since the last backup, but at least you would have the
data back to that point.
