Restore files from backup

Kewel!! I just downloaded the backup add-on for Outlook.
I'm using it to back up all my personal folders, contacts,
etc. on a regular basis.

I back everything up from my desktop to my portable hard drive.

What I'd like to know is...how do I restore that stuff so
the Outlook in my laptop is up-to-date with all that info?

I know the long way - by going into local settings/app data
etc. and dragging the outlook.pst to the appropriate
folder. But is there a way to do this within Outlook?

I am usinging Outlook 2003 with Win XP.

Thanks in advance! Mary

File | open | Outlook Data file. You can restore/drag/copy what you wish
into your real PST file.

Thanks!! So "open" actually means "move the PST file to my
hard drive - replacing it - from my portable drive?"

No - just file | open | outlook data file, open it from wherever it is (even
the portable drive is fine if it's connected), find what you want to
restore, right-click on it, drag to your 'real' PST, release, select Copy.
Close the PST file when done (in your folder list, right-click on the
top-level folder and select Close).
