Restore Outlook address book from a Backup

Mark

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody could give me any assistance with a problem I
have.

I have backed up my entire c drive with the Microsoft Backup utility from my
XP home addition disk and have since reinstalled Windows formatting my c
drive.

The problem I have is that I have set-up Microsoft Outlook as my mail server
and have tried to restore my mail folders and address book from my Backup
disk. I previously used Microsoft Outlook Express as my mail server but now
when I use the restore options I cannot find my old Express folder and
Address book, the only thing in the program files/outlook Express directory
is a file called msoe.txt.

Are there any other folders that would contain my missing address book and
folder that I should be trying to restore from?

Regards Mark

Your Outlook Contacts (addresses) and mail are contained in a single file
the, *.pst file, by default named outlook.pst
(Although Outlook 2000 may also use a wab file)

Outlook Express uses a wab file for addresses

Outlook Express is included with every version of Windows, so if
%ProgramFiles%Outlook Express contains only that file, then you've done
something wrong (unless you're using Vista, in which case something in your
explanation doesn't seem correct).

DL answered this.
