restore project default views and settings

Hi, how do I restore project default views and settings?

I tried deleting global.mpt file but it does not work

Hi Lynn,

Which global.mpt file did you delete? There are usually several.
Exit project and search for the one stored to your user directory.
Delete and restart project and a new global.mpt file with the
standard view definitions will be created.

I only have 1 global.mpt file which is found in office directory

Did you search hidden files ? In Project 2003 I have a Global.mpt
files stored in:

C:\Documents and Settings\Julie\Application Data\Microsoft\MS
Project\11\1033

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\...\1033

For Project 2007

C:\Documents and Settings\Julie\Application Data\Microsoft\MS
Project\12\1033

and another in Program Files
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates\1033

It's the file in the Application Data folder that controls what you
see in your version of Project. It will have a later modification
date.

Delete the Global.mpt in the application data folder and see if that
works.
