Restoring BCM data

Recently had a system crash and had files recovered by a recovery service. I
have been trying to restore my business contact manager data ( .msbcm) and I
get an error " the backup file has invalid format" I used the same disks to
install the application is there any thing I can do I am feeling quite
desperate.

I'm 99% sure this occurs when you try to restore an OLDER file than the
revision of the software.

For instance, your backup might be from BCM -- SP1
and you're trying to restore on BCM - SP2.

(In other news, I can't get BCM - SP2 to install, but that's my problem.)
