Close Word and locate it using Windows Explorer in the templates folder. Rename it from there to .old.

After furious head scratching, Audrey S. asked:
| Where do you find the Word new document template? I looked in the New
| dialog box with the My Templates tab selected and I right-clicked the
| Blank Document template, but there was no Rename option. I also tried
| deleting it, but wasn't allowed to. I then tried renaming the
| Normal.dotm template in the Trusted Templates folder, but I kept
| getting a message that I couldn't rename or delete because it was in
| use by Microsoft Office Word.
|
| Thanks for your help.
