Restoring IMAP - Outlook 2003

I've been using Outlook 2003 with my AOL for years.

Even though AOL purges stuff every 14 or so days, the Sent Items folder in
my "Personal Folders" area (above where the IMAP account appears) has kept an
archive of all items I've sent from this machine*.

My machine crashed, but I was able to copy over my Local Settings and
Application Data subdirectories, including my IMAP's .PST file.

However, when I copy it back over to the new machine and launch Outlook, the
archived Sent Items are gone.

Was/is there another file I need to restore? If so, how?

THANKS

* The "Sent Items" folder under the AOL account includes all AOL messages
sent over last XX number of days, regardless of the machine from which they
were sent. The "Personal" folder one archived all messages sent only from
this machine, but it never purged.

You seem to have missed the other pst file, the Personal Folders pst,
probably named Outlook.pst
Depending on how exactly you configured outlook and connected its old data
files you may have overwritten your 'outlook.pst' from the old installation
BTW An Archive, in OL, is a seperate pst usually named archive.pst created
when you use the archive function

Thank you. I DO have the archive still... Use "Outlook.PST" from the same
subdirectory?

I didn't use that before, as I have two profiles - one IMAP, one is my
POP/Exchange account for work. So I presumed that the Outlook.PST was my POP
mail.

My Profile *.NK2 and *.srs files are in \RJB\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook and the *.PST files are in \RJB\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

Restoration advice would also be appreciated.

Cheers!

Assuming you still have copies of the origonal pst file, copy it to
Documents Folder, within Outlook File>Open>Data File......browse to / open
that data file. Your origonal pst data should be intact, check it.
Within Outlook Folder View you will now have two sets of Personal Folders,
set the 'old/origonal' data file as default and then close the unused one.

Thanks again. One last - what will be the impact of that on my POP3 profile?

(I know I can do it and see what happens, but that sounds scary)

Thanks!

You mean your Outlook Profile, nothing

No, I mean my profile for my POP3 account.

I have two profiles - one's the IMAP one's the POP3. I want to make sure if
I restore the OUTLOOK.PST file I won't screw up the POP3 account...

Just to be sure as to what you mean by Profile;
If you start Outlook and you dont get a prompt to select which Profile to
use then you only have a single Profile, and in that Profile you will have a
set of Personal Folders (for your pop mail account) and a second set of imap
folders (the imap mail account)

If you have two outlook Profiles start the one you wish to use, then open
the old data file
