Restoring over-written files ?

Hello ,

I accidentally over wrote a very important original file , I desperatl
need to restore it ! I'm running 2003 microsoft word . And I did'nt ad
any additional changes to the file ... just that AWFUL mistake : ( .
did some searching and I found contradicting answers , and somethin
about a " shadow " that could help .

sorry , but I don't know how to open a word file through windows .
can't seem to find its place .. any clue
