Restoring Word Docs from Taskbar Closes All Open Word Docs

Help!

Often, when I minimize my Word docs (generally by clicking the Quick Launch
desktop icon), the program shutsdown (and all open docs along with it) when I
click one of the documents on the taskbar to restore it back to the active
window. This often results in loss of data (unless I had saved just before
minimizing). Any ideas?
