Restrict Column Widths in Datasheet View

M

Michael

I have Sub-Forms in Datasheet view on Forms that are in
Form view - but I would like to be able to set the column
widths of the Datasheet and prevent the user from being
able to change them.

If I put the Sub-Form in Form View I can control Record
Selectors, Scroll Bars, field sizes and so forth. But
once the Sub-Form is set to Datasheet view all those
options, though still available, have no effect. I don't
mind the Record Selectors so much, but I would really
like to be able to set the column widths when I design
the form and prevent the user from altering them.

Anyone know a way to do this?

Thanks,

No. Use a Continuous Forms view with textboxes arranged directly adjacent to
each other and labels on top of the textboxes. This will give similar
appearance to datasheet view but give you control over the display.

For programmatic control for forms in Datasheet view my standard
response is:

1) Michael Kaplan has an excellent article on manipulating Datasheets
here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnsmart
01/html/sa01b1.asp

2) An API solution is here:
http://www.lebans.com/autocolumnwidth.htm
The AutoSizing project also contains a method to FREEZE the
ColumnWidths.
