Retaining Outlook Info.

I want to uninstall Office 2003 and Install Office 2007. I know I have to
save all of my files to an external drive and copy them back in once I have
installed 2007. My concern is my contact info, calendar entries and
reminders in Outlook. Is there a way for me to get that info back once I
install 2007?

First: you should backup your data files to an external drive for safety in
case there is a problem when you uninstall Office 2003 and install Office
2007. Uninstalling Office 2003 should not remove the Office 2003 data files.
The contract etc information is in your outlook.pst file. Just save that
file.

Second: If there is not a problem {I never had one, but problems are always
possible}, when you install Office 2007 it will use your existing data
files. Outlook.pst from Outlook 2003 will just be updated to an outlook, pst
for Outlook 2007. You will not need your backup data files.

Third: uninstalling Office 2003 is an option. If you do not uninstall Office
2003 when you upgrade to Office 2007 you will have a option to remove or
retain Office 2003 applications that are being upgraded. If you choose to
remove, Office 2003 applications that are included in your edition of Office
2007 will be replaced with Office 2007 versions. Office 2003 applications
that not in your Office 2007 edition will be left intact.

Your current Office 2003 is installed in Program files/ Microsoft Office/
Office 11. You new Office 2007 will be installed in Program files/Microsoft
Office/Office 12.
