retrieve item from calendar

Hi,

I encounter problem when retrieve items for calendar in outlook 2003 by
c#. Since I only want to retrieve appointmentItem from the calendar folder,
but the only way to classify whether the item in the folder is
appointmentItem
is by cast it to appointmentItem and see if it is successful or not. Are there
any better method to classify the item ?
