Retrieve pst files from another computer

S

Skip Bisconer

I had a crash on my XP machine and was using Outlook 2003 to handle my email.
I am now trying to open a copy of those pst files on a Vista machine using
Outlook 2003 but it tells me I am not authorized to access these files. I
didn't protect these files in any manner. I am however using a different
username. I created a user using the XP username but still cannot access
those pst files. Any suggestions?

right click on the [old drive]:\Documents and Settings\username\ and choose
properties - on the security tab you want to add your new acct as owner.
You may need to work down through Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook.
