Retrieving Auto archived messages?

Outlook has been Auto Archiving email messages. Can any one tell me if there
is a way of retrieving them. I have accessed the file that they have gone
too but my computer is saying that the file is not recognised by any program

The file will have a PST extension.
You will need to open it from Microsoft Outlook. Start Outlook as normal.

Then from the menu:
File - Open -Outlook data file.
