Retrieving Data Before Reformatting

This morning my computer would not boot up. The diagnostic program showed 2
corrupted files in the operating system. So, getting up and running again
will involve reformatting the HD. I have removed the HD, so I can connect it
as an external drive on another computer and retrieve the data that I have
not backed up (last back up about 3 weeks ago). How can I retrieve my stored
email, contacts, and calendar from Outlook; and the information I have in One
Note?

For Outlook you need to make a copy of your *.pst file(s). I'm sorry I have
no knowledge of OneNote....

BTW, don't forget to copy your IE Favorites....a lot of people miss that
one....

Having a corrupt sys file rarely involves a reformat, you might want to post
to a group that supports your o/s for advice that doesn't include the
nuclear option, its also the case that hw problems can cause such issues,
but thats by the by.
All outlook data is contained in the pst file(s), its probably the case that
if you are connecting via slave you will have to take ownership of the
Folders
See here for default locations;
