Retrieving data from db2 linked table into MS Access is very slow.

I am using Front End application build in MS Access 2003 and my back end is
UDB DB2 with version V9 fp4. I have a linked tables in my front end
application which are linked via ODBC connection to DB2.

When I try to run a query on linked table which is having 50,000 records, my
application is taking more than 5 min to retrieve.

Can any please give me suggestions in improving my application performance?
