Retrieving data from Exchange server

Hello ~ I support a network for a public school district. In 2 buildings,
computers are config'd with static IP addresses (no local DHCP). When
attempting to open Outlook, the program will respond with "Attempting to
retreive data from exchange server". Outlook eventually opens, but it's a
nuisance for some of my users. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Tim

Not relevant unless there's a DNS misconfiguration - why are you not using
DHCP everywhere? It's so much easier....

Check your AD DNS to make sure no computers specify an external/ISP DNS
server IP in their network properties. No server or workstation should use
anything but internal/AD-integrated DNS server IPs in their ip configs.

Also - switch or hub? Known good cabling?
