Reverse Entourage calendar delete

I accidentally deleted an appointment, which had repeating occurrences. It
had a lot of information in the notes section and each occurrence had been
changed. It'll be quicker if I can work out how to reverse the delete, than
to go and do it all again.

Can anyone help?!

If you use command-z IMMEDIATELY after you make a mistake usually, it will
revert to the previous state. However, this does not work with all deletes.

It's probably too late to use the shortcut now. Sorry! If you have a backup
copy of your database you could get the info from it.

I tried command-z as soon as I realised my mistake, but it didn't do
anything. So then I wondered how to return the computer to the exact same
state (giving a certain time) like you can on a pc

Only (until Leopard's Time Machine is released) by restoring from a backup.

Rollback isn't possible on OSX 10.4, except by restoring from a backup. It
is a feature that has been announced for OSX 10.5 (Leopard). If you do NOT
have a backup of the Database file, which is contained in a subfolder of
your home folder (symbolized by "~"), that is, ~/Documents/Microsoft User
Data/Office 2004 Identities/Main Identity (if you renamed your Main Identity
that will replace "Main Identity" in the path), you will be out of luck.

So, if you have backed up your Documents folder recently, you should have a
copy of the missing data in that backup file.

To get at that data:

1. Copy the "Main Identity" folder from the backup to your Desktop.
2. Rename it to "Backup Identity" (or any other unique name).
3. Move it into ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities/.
4. Launch Entourage.
5. From the "Entourage" menu, select "Switch Identities".
6. Select the "Backup Identity" from the list that is presented.
7. You are now accessing the data in your backed up file. Switch to the
Calendar view, find your appointment, and drag it to the Desktop.
8. Switch Identities back to your main identity.
9. Drag the event file (.ics suffix) back onto the Entourage icon in the
Dock; it should show up in your Calendar.
