I am trying to print onto T-shirt transfers and cannot figure out how to "flip" my lettering in Word. I have looked in the Print options and even attempted text boxes. Please help.

It's written for Publisher, but you can do exactly the same thing in Word.

Cheers

But you need to know a few differences between the platforms/apps:

On the Mac, you'll find the Layout, etc., options in the Print dialog, not
Page Setup (and some of the terms are different but they're easy to figure
out). And you don't need to do this part until you're ready to print.

To flip the picture/text (since there's no Arrange menu in Word) do this:

Select the picture (and you'll need to turn text into a picture first per
the instructions in John's link or else using a graphics app).

Open the Drawing Toolbar.

Expand the Size, Rotation & Ordering section.

Click on the arrow next to the Rotation icon and choose Flip Horizontal.

Hope this helps.

Hi Beth & CHC -

FYI - You don't *have* to use Word Art or go outside Word on the Mac.

Word 2008 allows you to cut a text box then use Paste Special - As: Picture
or As: PDF. (Word 2004 only offers As: Picture.) The result can then be
flipped and/or rotated as you suggested. The tools in 2008 are no longer on
the Drawing Toolbar as they were in 2004, though, they're on the Formatting
Palette in the Size, Rotation & Ordering Group. Flip H/V are hidden in the
Rotation button. In 2008 you'll also have a Free Rotate handle once the
object is pasted in.

Although WinWord 2007 allows even more Paste Special formats I've found them
all to be totally unpredictable, whereas Mac Word does very well.

Hi there,

I am having a similar problem as I have word for Mac but I don't have publisher. When I open the drawing toolbar I am unable to click on the free rotate icon as it wont allow this. There is no option in the print box either.

Thanks
Samara

Hello

I have also just tried the formatting palette and cant see the rotation or ordering section you spoke of. When I flip the palette it has it ticked as being shown but it isn't!

A little frustrating!

Thanks
Samara
