Is there a way of keeping the revision bar in a revised
test without highlighting the revised test?

I just want a bar to indicate where cahnges were made.

On the Track Changes dialog box, click Options.
For Inserted Text, select None as the Mark
For Deleted Text, select Hidden as the Mark
For Changed Formatting, select None as the Mar
For Changed Lines, select an appropriate border option
....and don't forget to turn on Track Changes! <g

Note that these instructions will not work for Word 2002, which is most
likely the version the OP has.

Yes, you can move the document to the server and the revision bars will
be maintained.

When you're ready to create the next revision, accept all changes to
remove the current change bars, then start making your additional
changes.

I am using Word 2000.

If I do as Susie suggested, can I save the document to my
server and have others view the document with the revision
bars still in place?
Also, what happens when a revise this document again, will
the previous revision bars be replaced?

Hi Joe,

No. The options you modified are part of your personal preferences and
are not stored with the document. Other users will see he document
according to their Track Changes options.

The only Track Change options stored in the document for Word 2000 are
those under Tools/Track Changes/Highlight Changes. You can turn off
"Highlight changes on screen" and "Highlight changes in printed
document" but you will not see the revision bars in this scenario.
