Reworking MS Graph colour schemes

E

Ellinoz

I have been driven slightly mad so far trying to work out how to alter the
colour schemes in MS Graph. I realise the first six colours of the charts
are driven by the ppt template colours.

But after that, how on earth are the other colours changed, and permanently
so? I previously worked for a company, and somehow both the line and fill
rows in their MS Graph colour palettes were amended entirely for that
company's colour scheme. This was template based I believe, as it worked
when you inserted a chart as well.

Was this done with coding or am I missing some sneaky little way of getting
round the restriction?

Set up the chart how you would like it.

In chart edit mode go to chart type > custom types

Click user defined > add and then set as default

Ellinoz,

This page tells you everything you need to know about colors in MS Graph

http://www.echosvoice.com/colorschemes3.htm

It was news to me - but yes you can change the fixed 40 colors of ms graph.

Unfortunately it's on a 'per chart' basis. And you cannot save the color
palette and apply it to another chart.

Since the others have not had many nice things about MS Grump (Graph),
you might consider doing your charts in Excel where all 56 colors can
be customized and will stay those colors in PPT.
