Hi there.. I've got something of a nasty situation here.
I installed the B2TR, but due to the conflict with Norton, uninstalled it,
planning on just reinstalling the beta 2 without the refresh.
The intsall wouldn't work.. kept getting the error:
I received an internal error
message 2711: Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 (Beta) encounterd an
error during setup. Error 2711. An internal error has occured.
(GraphicsFiltersCDRFilesIntl_1033 ).
Eventually I downloaded the windows installer cleaning utility, and found a
few remnants from beta 2007, which I removed. I was then able to successfuly
complete the installation of the beta 2.
However, the ribbon has been replaced by garbage. In word/excell, it looks
like a combonation of code and other words meant for the user in other
places. Most office apps like word/excel crash immediately upon opening as
well. The very bottom of the page says something about the database
reference coming from an untrustworthy source, but the whole sentence is cut
off both at the beginning and the end so i can't fully make it out.
Outlook will actually load up. There is no semblence of a ribbon at all,
but rather it seems it would have a menu.. but the name of every menu is
"0,0" and the entries in it are again, garbage. Trying to actually do
anything in outlook (ie, open an email) causes a crash.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, running repair through add/remove
programs, and running detect + repair. Any suggestions would be warmly
welcome!
