Ribbon not Active

Mark

When working in Publisher 2007, ribbon is no longer active. Publisher 2007
resembles 2003. System had 2003 previously, but Office 2003 removed. Did
Repair on Office 2007, no help. Reinstalled Office 2007, still no ribbon.

Thanks for your help

Publisher 2007 does not use the ribbon. Just the Big 4 (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlook) have it for now.

Outlook 2007 does not have the ribbon interface implemented in the same way
that the big three do. Most users looking at Outlook would say it doesn't
have the ribbon. You only see the ribbon through individual item windows,
and it's a whole lot more fooling around to use it.

But Publisher doesn't use it at all. big difference, expecially if you don't
know that the interface hasn't changed.

Other Office programs like Visio and Project also do not use the Ribbon... yet. Wait until version 14 to see what happens with these "orphaned" applications.

I'm actually okay with this for now. It allows me some time to get
accustomed to the new interface. :)

Oh - I thought it was only 4. I haven't even opened Access on this system
yet. I'm breaking myself in easily. Word and Excel are tough enough.

It's five with Outlook being the biggest consumer of the ribbon. Access,
Excel, PPT and Word have one ribbon each, while Outlook has 19 different
ones...
