I had the same problem last night. Btw a little bit longer but
yesterday I wanted to solve this problem. I am from Holland and could
not find anything useful on the Internet.
After long studying and putting a backup in return I found out that the
problem is defenitly
a small dll file but which one.
I used the program "Shellexview" with which I disabled every dll one by
one after each other.
I can deal with some problem that you lose all your icons one your
desktop when you disable
one of the dll 's but when you enable again and you log out and log in
they are back again.
The problem dll-file was the nvshell.dll from my videocard. No problem
to disable this file and the problem was solved.
I wrote this yesterday in not the right forum else on the Internet ;" I
had the problem with the rightclick button from my mouse on my Acer
1363 WLMI laptop.
Oh what bad. After a long research I find out that "nvshell.dll" in
c:\windwos\system32 caused all the trouble. Almost I thought to make a
clean install.
You can't read much about this kind of trouble on the Internet but it
is a verry nasty problem.
With "Shellexview" (downloaded on the Internet) I disabled the
nvshell.dll option.
This file from nvvidea is no good but I don't know have to replace it. "
