Recently we upgraded several of our computers from Windows NT to Windows XP.
We have an Access 2000 database. It is separated into front-end & back-end
databases. The back-end resides on a SBS 2003 server.
Since upgrading, when users right-click in a field in the main form (which
includes a subform), enter their search criteria in the “Filter For:†field
and press enter, the right-click menu turns white and will not go away. The
users must close Access and reopen it. It does not happen all the time.
Sometimes it doesn’t happen all day and sometimes it happens 3-4 in a day.
At first we thought it was only on computers running WinXP and Access 2000,
however, it is also happening on one running Access 2002. We have three that
it never happens one: one running Access 2003, one running Access 2002, & one
running Access 2000. So that has shot my theory of it being a version issue.
I have downloaded and installed all the updates on the computers. I’ve
checked the event logs and there is nothing suspicious in them. Does anyone
have a clue of what might be causing this? Thank you.
