roll back mdac

Is there a way to either remove the current mdac or roll back the current
version to an earlier version? Thanks in advance.

Is there not a way to roll back or is this question avoided because of the
difficulty in doing so? Either way it would be nice to at least get a
response.

It's probably being ignored because it doesn't really have anything to do
with Access, the database product that's part of Office Professional, and
the focus of this newsgroup.

Unfortunately, I don't know which in group it would be appropriate. You
could try a newsgroup related to whatever operating system you're using.

Since it's used by Access to communicate with the server I figured that it
would pertain to the MS product in question. I am using Office 2000 as well
as Win2k. Either way they are all Microsoft products including the MDAC
which is why I am surprised nobody can answer the question.

The newsgroups are not run by Microsoft: they exist for peer-to-peer
support, so most of the responses are from non-Microsoft personnel.

You're correct that they are used to communicate with Access, but they're
also used to communicate to SQL Server, Oracle, and all sorts of other data
sources. In actual fact, Access isn't supported all that well by MDAC:
Microsoft stopped including the Jet drivers after MDAC 2.5.
