Roll Back ?

I recently purchased and installed Office 2007. I'm having difficulty
adapting to the new look and the way 2007 handles macros and some add-ins in
Excel and also the formatting in Outlook. (all my inward mail is double
spaced and I can't find how to correct it) It also seems to have a mind of
its own when it comes to sorting mail into date order.

How can I roll back to my old Office XP 2002 without losing my emails etc.

Data is not affected when changing versions of Office - why would it be?
Just uninstall 2007 and re-install 2002.
BEWARE - if your email is in a 2007-format pst file, Outlook 2002 will NOT
be able to use it. You need to create a new data file in 97-2002 format in
Outlook and copy all your data to it before uninstalling.
It would be prudent to backup all your data anyway, before you commence this
operation...

Depends whether you are using the OL2003/2007 unicode pst format or not as
to how you would proceed

Youve checked as to whether there are any updates to your addins?
Tried running excel in compatibility mode?
I cannot think as to why you have problems in the date sort order, there are
various Views available.

If at some stage you switch to Vista, OL2002 is not fully compatible with
that o/s

Thanks Gordon, but you've given contradictory advice - "Data is not affected
....." and "Beware ... Outlook 2002 will not be able to use it"

This was why I asked the question - I knew data was carried upwards to a
newer version without drama but I wasn't sure about going backwards. Although
you've said that data is not affected, you've also told me what to do because
it is, so thanks.

How do I determine what format my PST file is in, and how would I proceed
either way?

Yes, one is acknowledged as not being compatible and one needs a download
from MS to make it work. I forget just now what that was.

Yep.

It seemed to switch back and forth from oldest to newest. I prefer new
emails to be added at the bottom and it took a bit of clicking to finally get
it there. Didn't take too much notice at the time. It was just an annoyance.

Perhaps I should just drop the RC factor (Resistance to Change) and get used
to it.
