Roll up recurring tasks to summary

I have managed to roll up flag tasks to recurring task. Is it from there
possible to roll up the "flag"recurring task to a summary level?

Hi Helge Svee,

I am not sure I fully understand your question but here's two possible
answers:

You rollup tasks to a summary task in two ways:

1) In the Task Information dialog box on the General tab enable "Roll up
Gantt bar to summary.

Or
2) Insert the Rollup field in a task table and change the field for the
tasks to "Yes."

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

All my task has marked Yes in the column roll up.

Just to spesify my question:
What I have is a summary task with two recurring task at the next indent
level. Each of this recurring task is created buy 7 sub-tasks. These subtasks
have I formatted by using Flag.... So these tasks are flag tasks with
specified colours. I have managed to roll up the flag task to the recurring
task, but I also want it to be rolled up to the summary task level.

Can you help me with that?

Hi Helge ,

I've found a partial solution - I think! Try setting up your recurring
tasks and then expand them by clicking the + sign. Now highlight the
individual tasks and outdent them. Now delete the original recurring task.
This should leave you with just the set of tasks. Now here's the funny bit,
select all the tasks but the top one, indent them, and in Project/Task
Information/General tab, set them to roll up to summary. That seems to
work, but you'll have to re-insert the first meeting as a separate task.
Why it works like this, I've no idea!

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

This wasn't exactly the solution I wanted. But I have found my way around
this "problem". It most easy to use recurring task, but I found my solution
but formatting regular tasks.

If I make 5 task and want No 1 to be Summary Task and No2 to be "recurring
task" and No 3 to 5 to be the sub tasks under the recurring. I mark 3 to 5
and indent them under 2, and check the roll up to summary under Task
Information. For No 2 I indent it under No 1 and for both No 1 and No 2 I
check the Show rolled up Gantt bars and Hide task bar in the Task Information.

This is the solution, but it seems like it can't be done using "Recurring
tasks"
