every summer we bring a child over from a Romanian
orphanage for a two week holiday in England - it is the
highlight of their year. I have been trying without
success on your site to establish if it is possible to
download a Romanian alphabet using uk keyboard? please
can you help me asap - Marius (our Romanian boy) arrives
on Friday 25th

You might try a Google search for Romanian Font. I came acros a few; this
for example:

www.winsite.com/win3/fonts/page3.html

What version of Windows are you using? If its WinXP, Romanian language
support is built in. Make sure your WinXP CD is available to the system and
then do this:

Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages > Details > Add >
Input language > Romanian > OK > Apply > OK > Apply > OK

And reboot.

Now whenever you press left-shift and left-alt simultaneously, the keyboard
will alternate between English and Romanian settings. Depending on what
version of Word you're using, the program may or may not recognize the
change in language but it should get the special Romanian characters right.

Earlier versions of Windows (WinME, Win98) should offer Romanian support as
well but I don't recall the exact steps involved in activating it. It would
be through the Control Panel and Regional & Languge Options (or something
like that).

Thanks for your help - not having much luck though - when
i tried to download - just got a whole load of garbage!!
supposed to be zipped file - obviously i was doing
something wrong!
